Colin Fahy's musical journey entered the public eye when he first performed on stage at a variety concert in Portumna Community School back in the early 90's. From that day to this he has followed his dream and performed all over the country and further afield, including the prestigious Penn State and Miami Universities in the US.

The dream began to take shape while still in secondary school when Colin formed a three piece called Croi Og with two friends from his native Portumna. They toured through the west and midlands and built up a loyal following during their six years together. When Colin left for college in Athlone, this opened a door to new venues and even more fans of the band. Through his interest in music, it wasn't long before he became the Entertainments manager with the Students Union in the college. For Colin this was a natural step, and it became evident to all that he had a natural flair and a passion for the job.

When Croi Og broke up, Colin, or 'Fa' as he is known to his many friends, decided to go it alone and literally 'put his head down' and played as many venues as he could to prove that he was a force to be reckoned with. He developed his own infectious style of performing, and brought his talents to a more international audience by playing in musical festivals in places as far away as Germany, along with some appearences for President Mary McAleese during that time.

The next step was a CD release (2002), and the song that made the cut was Marvin Gaye's "Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home)". The B-side is a beautiful version of Bill Withers 'Aint No Sunshine', and the CD was received with great acclaim, getting airplay on many radio stations.

The months after the realease saw Colin play to more people than ever, and the word was spreading about this young talent from Galway. While continuing his gigging, he found the time last year to provide backing guitar and vocals to Simon Casey in his 'You're a Star' campaign. It was during this time that Colin decided he would give 'You're A Star' a shot himself, and in September 2003 came through the auditions with flying colours, even getting a recommendation from Louis Walshe himself! After a fantastic performance of the 'Counting Crows' version of 'Big Yellow Taxi' on the first live show of the series, the luck was not with him and Colin unfortunately lost out to the eventual winner Chris Doran, who went on to represent Ireland in the Eurovision that year. In the subsequent months, Colin toured with the 'You're A Star' artists all around the country, including a inspired performance in the Gleneagles in Killarney (check out the photos here).

After taking some time off, and writing some songs, Colin decided that an album was long due. While still gigging regularly around the country, he spent hours upon hours over the guts of a year in the studio with producer and musician extrodinaire Paul Gurney perfecting his selection of songs that would make the final cut. The album was launched with great success on Friday 1st April 2006 in Portumna, with a second launch night in Athlone the following Friday.
